On February 24, Selma Recreation Commission accepted our plan to build four Pickleball courts in Brentlinger Park in downtown Selma.
Construction should begin in early summer. It involves resurfacing a tennis court at the park and converting it to four Pickleball courts. We will have our own entrance to that court, so we won’t have to walk through the other two courts to get there, and we will have benches. And, hopefully, the courts will drain better than the current ones.
I can show the diagram to anyone who wishes to see it.
This is a major coup for Pickleball in the Valley. Only Fowler and Visalia have dedicated Pickleball courts. Now our Selma group will have the same, and we can grow the game beyond our current dozen regulars.
I will keep you all informed as the project goes along. Until then, we will continue to play on the current tennis courts.
